Paint correction is the process of removing surface defects from your vehicle's clear coat — swirl marks, light scratches, water spots, oxidation, and buffer trails. Using a multi-stage machine polishing process, we restore your paint to a deep, mirror-like finish that looks better than the day it left the showroom. It's the essential step before any ceramic coating and the best way to bring a neglected paint job back to life.
Every paint correction we perform is fully mobile across Bucks County and Montgomery County. We bring professional dual-action and rotary polishers, lighting, and all products directly to your driveway or garage. No drop-offs, no waiting, no hassle.
Depending on the severity of defects and the size of the vehicle, paint correction typically takes 4–10 hours. We schedule a full day for correction jobs to ensure quality results.
Paint correction removes defects within the clear coat. Scratches that go through to the base coat or primer cannot be corrected by polishing — those require respray. We'll assess your paint beforehand and be upfront about what's achievable.
Yes — always. Ceramic coating locks in whatever condition your paint is in. Correcting first ensures you're sealing in a flawless finish, not permanent imperfections.
We serve all of Bucks County and Montgomery County including Doylestown, Newtown, Warminster, Warrington, Yardley, King of Prussia, Lansdale, Blue Bell, and all surrounding areas.

Paint correction isn't a one-size-fits-all service. The right level depends on how much damage your paint has, what you're trying to achieve, and whether you plan to protect it after. Here's how to think about it:
✅ Good candidate if...
⚠️ May not be enough if...
These may require paint respray — we'll tell you honestly during the quote.
🔍 Not sure?
Run your hand across the hood in bright sunlight. If you feel grit or see a web of fine scratches, you're a great candidate. If the paint looks flat and cloudy, that's oxidation — also correctable.
Not all paint correction is the same. The number of stages determines how aggressive the treatment is and how much of the clear coat is removed.
1-Stage Correction
Light to moderate defects
2-Stage Correction
Heavy defects & maximum results
We assess your paint in person and recommend the right stage for your car's condition and your budget. No upselling — just honest advice.
Decontamination Wash
Full wash + iron decontamination spray removes bonded rail dust, brake dust, and embedded particles. Clay bar treatment follows to strip any remaining surface contamination that polishing alone won't fix.
Paint Depth Measurement
We measure clear coat thickness across multiple panels to ensure we never remove more than necessary. This protects the integrity of your paint and tells us how aggressive we can safely be.
Machine Polishing
Using dual-action or rotary polishers with professional compounds, we work panel by panel with proper lighting to see and eliminate every defect. This is where the transformation happens.
Panel Wipe-Down & Inspection
After polishing, each panel is wiped with an IPA solution to remove any polish residue and reveal the true corrected finish. We inspect under LED lighting before moving to protection.
Protection Application
Corrected paint is bare and needs protection immediately. We apply a sealant, wax, or ceramic coating depending on your package. This locks in the correction and keeps it looking sharp.
Ceramic coating permanently locks in whatever finish is underneath it. If you coat over swirled, scratched paint — that's what's preserved forever. That's why paint correction before ceramic coating isn't optional, it's essential.
Most of our ceramic coating packages include a 1-stage paint correction. If your paint is in rough shape, we'll recommend a 2-stage correction first so the final result is actually worth protecting.

We're not a franchise. We're not a car wash. We're two guys from Bucks County who take this seriously.
Dtown Detailing started the way most good things do — two high school friends with high standards and nowhere near enough patience for mediocre work. What began as detailing cars for neighbors in Bucks County turned into something real over the last four years.
We're perfectionists. It's that simple. We notice the swirl marks most people miss. We care about the panel that nobody looks at. That mindset is baked into every single job we do — whether it's a $150 exterior detail or a multi-layer ceramic coating.
We're a two-person team — local to Bucks County, fully mobile, and hands-on at every job. No subcontractors, no strangers showing up at your door. When you book Dtown Detailing, you get us. Same people, every time.
Professional-grade products only — the same compounds, coatings, and cleaners used by high-end detailing shops. We don't cut corners on product, and it shows in the finish. Your car gets treated like it matters, because to us, it does.
